There are places, people and things that remain in your memory long after you've experienced them. Like remembering a great summer from your youth, a travel destination you went to or maybe a past lover. Our trip to Souk Medina produced such a memory.

The food was seriously good. The coucous w/ root vegetables was like eating a cloud, the tagine of chicken unravelled, as if by command, in your mouth and the Lamb w/ prunes & roasted almonds had me literally stamping my foot under the table and looking over to my dining partner to underscore how good the food was.

The food is North African cuisine but when food has been prepared with this amount of passion and skill it stops representing food from a region and becomes what is possible with food period.

The ambience, interior decor that looks like you're actually in North Africa in a Souk and entertainment: belly dancers added to the experience were even better. There are places you recommend and then there are places you rave about. Souk Medina is an experience you rave about. Then there's the price. So reasonable that you don't believe it.

So complete is a night dining at Souk Medina that upon leaving you almost have to pinch yourself that your still in London. I was already booking in my mind when I'd next be returning to Souk Medina as I was leaving. Yes, it's that good.
